Financial services (bank / credit union) institution near the South Bay is looking for a Staff Accountant with A/P experience on a contract-to-hire basis. The Staff Accountant will handle the accounts payable (A/P) functions for the organization - full cycle accounts payable tasks (matching, batching, coding, etc.), managing check runs, 1099 filings, expense calculations, invoice payments, etc. The Staff Accountant will also assist with month-end duties, billing, and account/bank reconciliation. The Staff Accountant will work closely with vendors, process wire transfers, assist with audits, and conduct ad hoc reporting.

• Qualified candidates will need to have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration from a nationally recognized university.
• At least four years of high-volume general accounting and accounts payable experience.
• Must have experience within banking or credit unions.
• Must have excellent communication skills.
• Strong background with Excel is also needed.
• Pay, $35 - 39/hr.
